Michigan Golf Packages?!?!

Michigan is loaded with great tracks. I believe it is right behind Florida and California for the state with the most golf courses. Quite a few of the premium courses are on the west coast of lower Michigan (Traverse City), Gaylord, and Grand Rapids area; however there are great courses that even people that live here in Michigan don't even know about (so many locally to choose from). On the east side near Lake Huron is a course called The Gailles set up like a true Irish links course, and I understand they have added another one on to that; on Drummond Island off the east point of the U.P. is The Rock; near Brimley in the upper penninsula is a casino course that all my buddies says is great; they all have excellent packages.

Grey Walls in Marquette for you Wisconsin guys would be a nice outing. An outstanding course with lots of elevation changes and beautiful vistas. Normal green fees are $120, but I know they have golf packages with local motels that offer $75 green fees (that was a couple years ago when the economy was good so you may get a better deal now).

Michigan.org has some info to start a search.

This post had me excited. I went to school at Central Michigan and have golfed Pohlcat and Buck's run several times. If I were you, I would go back there and play those 2 after playing 18 at Riverwood. Maybe try and make it late summer and catch a Chips game (they will be stacked this year).

If you are willing to travel, the UP is great. I grew up in Iron Mountain and there are several nice courses up there. You could probably play Oak Crest, Pine Grove, and Timberstone for around $150 and stay at a nice hotel for really cheap. You will feel like you are on vacation in Mexico as prices in the UP are very cheap (steak dinners for under $20).

A few years ago there was a "all you can golf deal" at a place in the Traverse City area. I can;t remember the name of the course but surf around, you might find it.

Yea im gonna probably look for a cheaper priced all you can golf, i dont need the BEST place out there, haha, not the greatest player anyhow. But i also went to CMU, left there in '06. We used to golf all those courses. Especially riverwood because of the cheap student rates. We'd go to pohlcat on some fridays tho cuz as a student you could ride 18 for like 22 bux or some sheit. was awesome,
