Mottos?

Any of you guys out there play golf by a motto? Or any interesting ones youve heard?

One of my favs is "If you have to tell them how good you are, then your not very good".

My coach and I have been trying to get me a little phrase to help me on the course, then I took it and translated it into french (dont ask me why, makes me focus more, im french immersion). I say it to myself to forget evrything and just focus on the shot at hand, its "Garder une rythme soutenu".

Try and translate that and ill check back tomorrow and see if anyone gets it (ill tell you that internet translators dont translate it properly).

That means "To keep a constant rhythm." or "To keep a constant rate."

I would think this would be even better:

I played all my baseball growing up with "I came here to play ball" on my cap. I have too many swing thoughts these days, no room for a motto.

Our number one on our team always says " stop thinking so much and just get up and hit the ball"

seems to work mighty nice for him...

My motto on the course is "no doubles"

This means that when I have any doubt to a shot a play the safe shot to ensure I make no worse than bogey. Doubles kill rounds, simple as that.
