My first Callaway equipment purchase

For the first time in my career, I have spent money on Callaway golf equipment...for some reasonI have never found something I like in their line...

This past summer, I found a couple of HX Tour Blacks on our course and played with them. Liked everything about them.

At the time, I was playing the Precept U-Tri Tours after switching from the Pro-V1x.

I just finished two rounds with the Callys and really like them...maybe I should try some of their other products...

That's all I play with, and it's all I've been playing with the past year and a half.

The poison is slowly creeping in...:D

I will play Callaway balls until I die or they do something stupid with the line. I just can't justify spending the money on ProV's when Callaways perform as well, if not better, IMO.

How long till you have a set of X-tours, B? :)

B - I thought you loved the U-Tri?

Didn't you buy them since they were cheaper than the ProV1? Isn't the HX Tour (Black) the same price as the Pro V1?

Please give us some backround on when you came out of the closet...

Good questions because I am indeed going against the logic of the previous decision...

I liked the U-Tris but they never seemed to quite perform as well as the Pro-V1's. It was a good tradeoff economically though and I would recommend them to someone who absolutely wants to keep their cost per dozen in the $26 range.

Its just that when I played a couple of rounds with the Callaway ball I found on the course - I fell in love with it. Does it all including great distance and handling around the greens.

The final nail in this decision was when I played with my 'short buddy' you saw in my recent photos. He is the one who just smashes the ball and is really the best player I play with on any sort of regular basis. He told me he switched from the Pro-V1x to the Callaway last year and likes them better. I look to him for advice and he never fails....

I just wrote a whole screed there & the page came up with "fatal execution." It mustn't have liked what I'd written, eh.....?! :D

I think the Black is the best ball I've ever played but like Rock I've used the Blues due to cost. But I haven't been losing very many so I may spring for some these next time.

Actually, if DOGB has some of these in grade one I'm gonna buy some from him. One of the free balls I got from him was a Black and it looks brand new.

My Blues will all have new homes in the woods or someone's back yard before I'll be buying anything.
