After several months and several hundred hours invested so far, I have started a beta at http://www.mygolfdomain.com.

I'm not sure about advertising policies here, so I won't go into detail at this point.

Please take a look at it and if interested, get involved!

You have been busy.

Where is that background image from? It looks familiar.

The picture on the index page is from Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway, Utah.

I am using several other pictures that I took with my Canon S40. The web pages are formatted based on your screen resolution. I have style sheets and background images specific for several resolutions.

Advertising policies.......yes, well.....there are some but they are really just guidelines.

If you come here (this is just a generalization) with the sole purpose to spam the board with advertising you may be subjected to but not limited to;

a) deletion
b) public humilitaion
c) law suit
d) pathetic fawning
e) extortion
f) bribery

On the other hand, if you have a site to promote and you actually participate here from time to time we generally welcome you with open arms...put links in your signature line if you like. We all love golf, we cover the spectrum from an ability standpoint and we want to see your stuff. Whether it fly's or not is up to you.

ALSO (this is important) we can be bought.....got a product? give me four, one for me and each of the moderators...we like drivers, iron sets, putters, balls, hats and shirts. ;)

Seriously.......a reciprocal link would be nice but is not required, I just want participation here on whatever level you can.

Cheers!

edit:
I do have one suggestion for you.....you have text outside of the grey boxes which is currently black, I think you should change it to white.

The black gets lost against the background as you scroll through it.

This thread will be it for any advertising here other than my signature. It's not much of an ad, too :). You can delete this thread if/when you feel it is appropriate.

I will throw a background behind this type of text or change the color of the text for my Mozilla style sheet. Thanks for the suggestion. I tried a background behind this type of text earlier, but chose to have it the way it is for non-IE users.

If you haven't seen the site using IE/Windows yet, it's quite a bit different. It's possible that some things may not work as designed when not using Windows. I need to test on other operating systems.

Thanks.

Yes, if I ever find a way to use transparency (<100% opacity) in Mozilla browsers the way I am using it for IE, I will have the same look for both types of browsers. There are separate style sheets for various resolutions for both IE and Mozilla browsers. Currently, I prefer the way I have the site looking when using IE. The main difference is the use of solid background patterns instead of transparent backgrounds when not using IE. My site is the only site I have seen so far doing this.

BTW, please change my user name to Fore on the Road if you would like to keep the spamming to a minimum :). Nobody from here has "signed up" so far. Thanks.

Can I be a moderator?

Aha! I knew I recognized that pic. I've golfed there probably 15 times. I live in SLC. Are you from here?

I have two golf sites and I enjoy participating in the other sites like this one. In fact there are 3 golf forums I frequent (one is my own). I actually post more messages here and at the other one than I do in my own forum!

The freaking "net" is so big, with so many MILLIONS of users, anyone who thinks you are stealing their business is a moron.

I'll post a higher quality version (less compression) of this picture in the gallery here. I moved to Layton August of 97. I moved from there to the Midvale area about a year and a half ago.

I have all "known" Utah courses except Promontory in my database. Every yardage for every hole for every tee is available along with lots of other information. So, people in Utah using my software are in good shape :).

All I need now are actual people...got about 12 now with nobody seriously using it yet other than myself. I submitted the site to Google and Yahoo last night.

My home course is still Valley View. I play in the men's association at Valley View and Bountiful Ridge (weekly and monthly tournaments). I also play in monthly tournaments at Davis Park and local UGA tournaments.

A picture of Wasatch is now in the gallery here.

I recently made it possible for anyone to view a My Golf Domain.com member's rounds. Here are a few links to my recent rounds. There are a few pictures, so you can see what the courses are like.

http://www.mygolfdomain.com/round_view.php?round=391

http://www.mygolfdomain.com/round_view.php?round=393

http://www.mygolfdomain.com/round_view.php?round=394

http://www.mygolfdomain.com/round_view.php?round=397

I'll post some more links if wanted. I plan on being able to use a single link to view someone's rounds. I might work on that this weekend.

As of today (4/15/05), the software is still in beta test status and totally free during this testing period.
