It seems like I hear crickets in the forum.
Is it safe to say the the days of specialty forums are behind us?

Facebook and Reddit groups have taken over?

Pretty much. This one kind of died after you sold it off, the subsequence ownership folks did not have the passion/interest and the place became stale.

Keep thinking I'll get back into spending time on various forums. Guess I'm just too busy watching Oprah reruns! :.>) ShotTalk sure ain't what it used to be. But, a lot of forums are dying. Social media has taken over. Social media is so much healthier and educational!! :>)

Forums didn't make the jump to mobile. They do still hang on...but only barely.

It doesn't fit the '10 seconds and scroll to something else' very well. That's what the kids need these days. It takes too much time to read through an entire thread of replies...you might miss out on the new tic tac craze. And everyone is going to think you're mid.

Doesn't work well with Gen Z. Too many of the old codger golfers are dying off. And, today's political arena has many spending time on social media platforms where we can argue and call each other names 24/7...even though the only way we can try to effect any change is at the voting box. I also spend lots of time on word games such as Wordle. Trying to keep the feeble old mind from going totally blank.

Up before 5 a.m. Shower, shave, breakfast. Do word games while eating. Off to the golf course by shortly after 7 a.m. Home from there somewhere around noon. Lunch. Short nap. Honey-do jobs. Back to social media for a while. The day disappears. No real time for the "old time" discussion forums.

Did that for 40 years of my career and have continued since retirement. Never set an alarm. Usually wake between 4:30 and 5:00. Bed 10:00 or a little after. 6 to 7 hours sleep is all I need.

The only forum I see that's really active is WRX, but I haven't been there in a long time.

I like this place. Think I'll stick around here.
