Wow, went and played today hit 13 of 15 fairways. Could not have drove the ball any better. Iron shots were decent, mostly landing anywhere from 5 to 30 feet. NOW putting... I had 18 puts ON THE FRONT 9. What in gods name is going on?? It was not just speed trouble. It was speed, line, and just crappy putting. I have never been a strong putter. Does anyone have any drills that help your putting game. I HAD been taking way to big of a backstroke and de-accelerating. Dont do that anymore. What are some things you guys practice, other than spending hours on the putting green. If that is what it comes down to looks like I wont have much time for playing, just practicing putting. Thanks

Most of us don't practice putting. But these drills can help you:
- Putter touching ball, then you push the ball on the line. This is to ensure an accelerating stroke with a followthrough.
- Practice your stroke with your putterhead being square. In pressure putts, some have a tendency to open the clubface.
- Practice feel putting. Do longdistance putts, not worrying about how you're aligned, but just looking at your target, and react to it.

When I am having trouble I will take 10 strokes from 5 feet, the first is to the right side of the cup, the next is to the left then right, left and center, then start again. After cutting the hole in half with the first 4, the 5th seems easy. If I miss any of them I start over and I don 't stop until I get thru the full set.
