So I've been struggling with keeping the ball from fading right. The driver was very inconsistent, Mostly slight fades, some straight, and even fewer were hooking or just being pulled left.

Last week I went to the driving range 3 times--spent time working on my foot line, shoulder line, worked on swinging the club with only the left hand/arm.

So I walked 9 yesterday and just couldn't even get the ball to go right except with the driver of course, and the 3wood once or twice.

And, I seem to have this problem with either too "open" a stance, or like now, too "closed". I just can't find that happy medium. If I could only hit the ball straighter, I'd be on the green 85% of the time. I'm usually pin high with my irons and just off the green either right or left.

I guess I'm posting to see if any of you have encountered this and what did you do to help straighten things out. I'll struggle with the driver until the end of time, but I'd love to hit my irons consitently. Thanks a bunch

Also, I'm going to re-grip all clubs except my putter this week so they all have the same damn grips. I'm hoping that will give me a better feel/more consistent for sure. I hate having 5 or 6 different grips in the bag.

lol,same for Tiger:)

Tbh,evreyone encounters a problem with going left or right, the answer could be anything, and you HAVE to start with stance, posture, grip and alignment,Leadbetter spends 90% of his total teaching time sorting these things out.I would have a lesson and start from there.

That's basically what I want to do. . .I did find out today, however, that slowing my backswing down, helps me keep the shots straighter. The problem is knowing who is worth the $35 to $50 an hour for lessons. I need to start asking around the clubhouse and the driving range to see if there are particular names mentioned often.

Thanks

In the UK,a mag publishes a list of the top 25 coaches in the country.I went to one and he was worth every cent of the 40 quid 70 dollars he charged.Equally,my local assistant pro checks me out and he superb for mthe fraction of the price.

You will be starting with grip, stance, alignment and posture,so you could actually teach yourself these fundamentals from a book and then get a local pro to check them out. Then its a matter of hitting 10,000 practcie balls
