Need computer help!!!

i have the norton antivirus and late yesterday it said i had a trojan vundo virus,

i've done everything i could think of to get rid of it but can't b/c its in a windows system32 file and any attempt to delete or move it ends in a message saying its beeing used in an application and can't be deleted or moved

please help, thanks

Youngun i had the same thing happen to me. I ended up contacting Norton and got there help with it, if i find what they sent me(email) i will forward it to you.

Trojan.Vundo is a component of an adware program that downloads and displays popup advertisements. You've probably installed it by visiting a Web site link contained in a spammed email.

You can download a removal tool at this Symantec page.

Meaning the email you were going to forward him will have an attachment virus in it... kinda like a chicken-egg type joke... sorry, I guess it wasn't my best :D

the removal tool doesn't detect it, even when the warning notice is displayed right on the screen

maybe try using LavaSoft Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and MS AntiSpyware.

Between those three, not too many things get left behind.

We had some stuff get our home computer over the summer and we tried all of those. Some of the spyware that's out there now is almost impossible to get rid of and in the end we had to wipe out our hard drive and start over.
