Well, I'm looking to upgrade my equipment from what I have now. Which are Ping Eye2 black dots. I've only had them for about a year, just getting kind of board of them, and they're ugly. I've been looking at a couple sets, preferably Mizunos, or Taylormades.

I have no problem getting the ball in the air, I'm a 15 handicap right now. I would live forgiveness, with a clean club look. Something I prefer is that the top of the club (the very top where it curves from the face to the back) is thin, I can't stand the thick Callaway looking ones.

If you need any other information, let me know.

Thanks, you guys have been awesome thus far.

I'll trade you a set of Cleveland TA7's 2 years old in great shape, straight up for the eye2's. I play a blade now, but would like to have the eye's as a cavity backup.

Thanks for the offer, but they're a family thing. We've had them ever since they first came out, and they've been passed down three generations. Thanks though.

Thanks alot CKGuy, I'll look more at the 30s.

If you're looking at Mizuno be sure to demo the MX-23. It's the only forged model they recommend for your, (and my) handicap. They're forgiving but feel great.

I would definatley look at Mizuno over Taylormade...but I'm not a very big Taylormade fan. Another set of Iron you should take a look at are Hogan's. The next set of irons I'll will get will either be Mizuno or Hogans. I am a very big Titleist fan but I think its time to try something different.

I haven't taken any action on it yet. Hopefully when I get back from Ireland I'll be able to purchase the Mizuno Mp-30's. I got the chance to hit them today at Golfsmith and I was in awe on how much cleaner they look and feel than my pings. My handicap has dropped 3 strokes since I made this thread. Any other opinions on the Mp-30? Thanks much to Ck for calling these off the bat.

The MP-30 is a great set. If you need a set, I can have them custom made and then sent to you.

We get them 1 1/2 inch long and no grip so we can Cut to length and bend them and have them fit properly.

If you like the 17's stay with them. If you want to work the ball and hit lower shots the 30s would be better.

I'm new here and I'm also thinking of giving up my Pings. Want to try forged and go back to steel shafts. Anyone tried the Wishon forged cavity backs? Looking at those and Mizunos - but what's the difference between the MP-30's and MX-23's - I still want the most forgiving.... Any advice appreciated.

I have a set of titleist 690. The set is 2-4 in cb and 5-pw in mb. They are stiff steel shafts and in great shape.

Still haven't done anything, a couple other ones entered, I'm being very cautious about this whole thing, as I want clubs that will fit me the best.
The ones in the running are:
Mizuno MP-30
Taylormade RAC MB/CB Combo
Ben Hogan Apex FTX

It seems I can get a relatively good deal on all of them on eBay. I also checked out golfclubexchange.com, some decent deals there. My budget is 500US.

1.) Mizuno is one of the most awesome iron-irons I have ever hit. MP 32 IE.
2.) I just got a set of Hogans and they are awesome.

If I had the money I would do get the Mizunos, the Hogans are an awesome stick for the money. Good luck with whatever you get
