Hey guys. Ive been looking for a good golf site and I finally found one! I am about a 9 handicap and I just love to play all the time. Im 19, turning 20 soon. I have a couple of questions, like, I play an agressive draw but I am having problems with my driver. Sometimes it will go stright, power draw or a duck hook. I do have a very strong grip and that's the only way I feel comfertible playing. But is there any other way I can fix that duck hook? I also played today and shot 80. Thanks again!

As long as you have the very strong grip you will have to learn to live with a few duck hooks. Unless of course you are perfect:)

Welcome to the board.

Welcome aboard Robert!

I'm a complete hack so I can't offer any advice but I will trade you half a power fade for half of your duck hook. :)

Robert:

Welcome aboard...this is a fun site and largely a social club in many ways...

Have you ever heard of the Five Lessons book by Ben Hogan?

Robert,

Welcome aboard!

Fast hands will make you hook. Try slowing them down with a halfspeed swing while hitting some balls. Then work your way up to 90% speed.

You'll be hitting that 5 yard draw in no time!

Robert - you've come to the right place, plenty of the playas here have the same tendncy (myself included) Rockford's advice is sound. Think smooth and high finish. That will help slow the hands down and take out the hooks
