Pick 4 golfers who you believe have the best chance to win The Open Championship.

Scoring is as follows:

If you are the only one to correctly pick the winner, you automatically win.
If there are two or more people who picked the winner, only they will be eligible for the "playoff."
If nobody picks the winner, everyone who made picks is eligible for the "playoff."

Playoff details:
Golfers earn points equivalent to their finish. For example, if Spieth finishes T24th, he earns 24 points.
Golfers that miss the cut earn last place (to make the cut) points +1 point.
I will add up all of the points earned by all of your picks.

LOWEST POINT TOTAL WINS THE CHALLENGE.

In the event of a tie: Whoever picked the highest-placed golfer will win. If the winners pick the exact same people, whoever picked the winning combo first (I can see revision history) wins.

You may make only one set of picks but you may edit them until the Wednesday night before the tournament starts. I close the thread to picks on Thursday morning.

Good luck!

I'll be watching with my St. Andrews towel and ball mark by my chair. Daughter and SIL were over there for a European cruise in early June. Flew into London, on to Scotland, and flew out of Dublin. They visited St. Andrews and got some awesome pictures. Picked up a towel and ball marker for me. Would have seen if you could have got together with them, but they were in Ireland for only one day. Daughter was host for a university alumni trip. She's been with the college alumni association for a little over 25 years. Two years ago, she and the SIL hosted a Mediterranean cruise. Last year Alaska. This past June, Northern Europe. She just found today she's headed to Greece/Croatia in October. Her trip is paid for by the Alumni Association. Her husband goes at half price. He can't go this October, so she's trying to get her sister to go. If the sister can't, will try to send the wife.

You should go! Get your ass over here and I will show you some proper golfing links land, in hostile conditions. A bit of wind and rain will blow away the cobwebs.

The forecast is not terrible this week for Liverpool. A bit of wind and rain but not too bad. Lots of rain recently so the course will be very soft and receptive. I'm expecting low scores.

The Open is not easy for us west coast Americans to watch. First group tees off at midnight.
