taken from the Callaway site...

"Offset
The position of the hosel relative to the leading edge, or forward-most edge on the sole of a club. The offset is the distance that the hosel sits in front of the leading edge of the club, and it allows the average player slightly more time to square the clubface to target before impact."

something about whether the face is open or closed...i'm sure someone will explain it far better, but here's a starting point!

Would it be just as good getting an offset 3 wood than gettin a regular one?

I'm not qualified to answer that...i'll let some of the cleverer guys here do that.

But I'd guess it would depend on many things, for example do you draw or fade the ball. you wouldn't want an offset club that would worsen any swing faults. Get checked by a pro.

But I'll let the others respond with better answers.

The offset will give you a fraction of a second longer to square the face. If you tend to slice a offset club will help with a straighter shot.

If you hit the ball straight you will probably not have a problem but you could start hitting the ball left.

Offset clubs are designed that way to help people who slice the ball. It helps close the clubface at impact. If you have a tendency to draw or hook the ball like me, an offset club would be a mistake.
