Dongle wouldn't go through due to the router havingn wep enabled, I've turned it off and it now works. Now I have an unsecured network though

Your neighbors will read your aimless, rambling nonsense and stay far away.

So it's not a bad thing...

My neighbours are mostly old or dead, none of them have heard of the internet.

LOL. Lucky bastard. My neighbors are all illegal aliens who've never heard of volume controls...

Hard to get too deep into your current problem, but if you are using a LAN profile manager to control the wireless card settings, then Windows might be trying to overwrite those settings, causing the mismatch between the router and the card.

Hey dave here ya go...
1. Unplug computer
2. Throw out 2nd story window
3. Wait for BIG truck to run it over
4. Buy new computer with real software
I think this is your best idea, dave.

Sell some clubs, buy a new computer.

Linux can be great when you use it correctly. I used Ubuntu for a while and loved it. But some features wouldn't work on it, so I went back to Winblows.

I'm the same way. I like to tell my customers "I've never had a computer defeat me." And I haven't.

(Thank God for good utility programmers...)
