Does anyone have this? It basically hurts like hell for your first 3 or 4 minutes you are on your feet every morning, intermittently during the day, and flares when you sit down for a while and then get back up.

It is killing me and making me not want to play golf. DOC says it will wear itself off, but almost 6 months and no let off. Appointment with specialist in the near future.

I've been hit with it recently as I've been jogging more. Biggest thing my doctor told me to do was get fit with proper -fitting running shoes and to roll a frozen water bottle under my foot.

Had it hit me in 2000. Took over a year for it to heal. Extremely painful. Wife fought it for a couple of years. She got some sterioid shots in her foot, but they only gave temporary relief. She went to some specially fitted shoes and has been pain free for a couple of years now.

I had that in 2008 when I was in special warfare training. It can be one of the most agonizing things. Use a golf ball under your foot and roll it around with enough pressure to loosen tge muscles. It won't fix it but will help. Best thing is prescribed insoles. Takes a lot of time to recover either way

The water bottle, tennis balls and golf balls all help. I also have a brace to wear at night and a foot rocker, which seems to help as well. I have to wear these tactical boots at work. They wear on me like hell. I always walk when playing,,, I actually hate playing out of a cart, and would probably quit playing if I had to ride all the time which really sucks since I am actually hitting the ball well now. I took golf back up on July 22 last year after about 15 years of laying off of it and have been re addicted to it since. It has helped me get over some personal losses, has helped me stop drinking so much, continue to have quit smoking (3 years), and is a distraction as I see my daughter, who lives with me, grow older and less dependent on me. If my foot takes me out, I'm going to be pissed.

Shyte! Not good. This has caused me to look it up. I'd never heard of this condition before now.

Good luck!! Trouble is, the condition can take a long time to heal. Aggravating it can sometimes extend the heal time.

I was in a similar mindset when my knee got so bad I could not longer walk the golf course. I came within a hair's breadth of giving up the game. I always walked and was not about to be relegated to riding. But, golf was my only distraction from some issues we were dealing with and my "support" group was the guys I played golf with. I started riding. After a while, a buddy and I went in partners on our own golf cart. That allowed me to keep playing a game I love and enjoy the fellowship of a great bunch of guys.
Today, I can walk without pain. I spend a lot of time walking on my job. I need the exercise. I often think I'll dig out the "Hoofer" bag and go back to walking. But, I've become spoiled with the cart and continue to ride. Currently, our entire group rides, except for one. He's young and in excellent shape and plays as quickly as we who are riding.

If you have to bite the bullet and ride for a few months to continue playing the game, do it!!!! If the game is helping you through some tough times, don't toss that out the window simply due to the walking/riding issue.

After reading all this, I remember when I was in the defence force training they had to let quite a few intakes go because of this condition.
People just weren't up to the task.
And also shin splints were a big weakness people had with extensive workouts and training.
I saw the looks on some people faces and wouldn't want to go through that pain anytime soon, if ever.

Hope you can cure it soon enough and keep the prevention going.

Having gone through this recent foot injury myself, I feel so horrible for you. Contrary to what we all may be guilty of at one time or another. I followed Dr's orders word for word on the road to recovery. I honestly think it has help a lot in how fast I've been healing up.
