This assumes a round that will be posted for handicap purposes:

I play it as it lies unless I will damage a club. Then I will take an unplayable with the penalty stroke. I haven't had this come up in a tournament yet so I am not sure how I will deal with it.

I hate it when I get stuck in a huge divot but that is part of the game.
