potentially stupid question about driver face angles...

To hit a slice you need to have the face open at least 5* at impact, same goes for a hook in the opposite direction. Having a face angle that is closed or open 1* is more a matter of appearance at address than it is a real playing paramater.
As Dave mentioned, internal weighting can affect the way the club head opens or closes at impact but again the amount of weight needed to have any real effect is quite large, something in the neighbourhood of 20g before you will even have the slightest impact.

Feel free to continue chatting but it is a moot point now as I just ho'd me a new driver! (new thread and pics to follow this evening...)
