Are the preowned clubs from Golfsmith any good? give me some imput please. Thanks.

I have a friend that picked up a couple pre-owned Callaway Hawkeye VFT fairway woods and they ended up being in fantastic shape. They were listed as "good", but I would go on record saying they would be 8.5-9/10 any day of the week....

As someone that sells a lot of used clubs, most repuitable places will grade them a little worse than they are. I would rather you be surprised by a better quality club than hacked off because it is in worse shape.

True. That's a good selling technique.

I bought a driver off E-bay once that was rated as "good shape". The thing looked like it was showroom. Zero marks.

That's a bonus everyone likes to have.

I just bought a TaylorMade Firesole Rescue 24* from Callaway Pre-owned on ebay and it was in excellent shape... and they rated it an '8'.
I like it when people underrate their offerings... unlike this guy.

I'm still trying to figure out if he's blind or not... :D

That is rediculous. I wouldn't give him $10 in that condition.

He's an E-bay rookie, but cripes. That's ridiculous.

    Yeah, I thought so too.

The part that got me was the "No deficiencies whatsoever"... I'm wondering if he's talking about himself, or the club... but I guess that description isn't fitting for either. :D

I wonder just how bad it would have to be before he rated it lower... a snapped shaft maybe?
Then he'd probably just rate it average... ;)

yea, golfsmith is awsome, when i bought my driver from there it was in perfect condition, it even had the plastic still on it!

It looks like he was hitting rocks with that driver. I bought my Titlesit 975 J driver off of Ebay, and it was in perfect condition. It feels great and I hit sneaky long...for me that is. I was considering buying a G2 from Golfsmith but haven't done it yet, but I'm sure anything you buy from there will be in satisfactory conditon. Golfsmith has a reputation for being a quality company, they should be a safe bet.

The only thing about people underrating clubs and trying to sell them is some people may not buy them because the seller says they aren't top notch. No?
