I might try and find a golf shop that has a mizuno/titleist cart. Try several different shafts with the same head. It's crazy how much of a difference the right shaft can make.

I trying to quote my teaching pro here. A steep angle of descent isn't good. A flatter angle of attack is much better. It results in much better and consistent ball strikes. How deep are your divots? And how steep is your swing?
Ok cool, that's exactly the same as myself, exactly which Nippon ones are they? This is a pretty personal question, but we're all friends here.
I am a pretty shallow picker, i'm not very steep. I can be when I need to hit that shot, but my regular swing results in little to no divot with my irons. I do with my wedges, PW, 9 iron and my 8 iron, but the rest of the time, less than average.
I also carry the same shafts throughout my set for every club. 2 iron, irons, wedges. Consistency rules.
R35
If you look at the guide my FST shafts use the IR35 row for x flex (FST shafts tend to play a little soft so I tip the in X for myself).
So, if you follow the IR35 row across you will see 5 1/8" for the 6 iron. You would cut that much off of the tip end.
