I might try and find a golf shop that has a mizuno/titleist cart. Try several different shafts with the same head. It's crazy how much of a difference the right shaft can make.

How deep are your divots? And how steep is your swing?
I trying to quote my teaching pro here. A steep angle of descent isn't good. A flatter angle of attack is much better. It results in much better and consistent ball strikes.

This is a pretty personal question, but we're all friends here.

I am a pretty shallow picker, i'm not very steep. I can be when I need to hit that shot, but my regular swing results in little to no divot with my irons. I do with my wedges, PW, 9 iron and my 8 iron, but the rest of the time, less than average.

I also carry the same shafts throughout my set for every club. 2 iron, irons, wedges. Consistency rules.

Ok cool, that's exactly the same as myself, exactly which Nippon ones are they?

I have 1150's in my current irons, and had a set of 1050GH's in my old Naks.

I still have the 1050's. They might need a home.

How much you talking? Also how many? Do they play the same as the 1150's?

If I bought iron shafts, from a retailer, would I buy them the same length and cut them down? I was looking, and some shafts don't have a length option, where's some do, what's up with that?

Depending on the shafts you would tip them, install them, and then trim them to length.

If you look at the guide my FST shafts use the IR35 row for x flex (FST shafts tend to play a little soft so I tip the in X for myself).
So, if you follow the IR35 row across you will see 5 1/8" for the 6 iron. You would cut that much off of the tip end.

This is assuming parallel tipped shafts, and not tapered.

And he said FST, which are, so yes, I think he knew he was assuming.

Yes, but an FST shaft won't fit in any major OEM head. Only a component head is bored to .370.

Granted, you could bore out an OEM head to .370, which I have done many times. But it's much, much easier to put tapered iron shafts into iron heads.

Ok, so just make sure I buy .355 tapered shafts?
