To make the tourney more fun - I suggest we use the following point awards....

Bogey = 1 pt
Par = 2 pts
Birdie = 4 pts
Eagle = 8 points

FWIW this is the point system we use here and I like the added excitement when you put some birdies on the board.

However you guys want is fine with me. That, BTW, is the point system for our company league and it works well. It'll all be for naught, tho if no one can figure out how this thing works. I invite the confused to reread the tourney stickey...

This looks perfect with one exception. I would propose that we use this system, but in reverse for left handed people from Central Texas.

Eagle = 1 pt
Birdie = 2 pts
Par = 4 pts
Bogie = 8 pts

Since our brains work in reverse anyway and I'm much more likely to make bogies and pars, I'm pretty sure this would work best.

Whadda ya think. :D

Dave: Love your system as long as we add the fact that the quota for left handed people from central Texas is 36-USGA Index X 87.63.

This takes into account the armadillos, mesquite and Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys.

All of these must be factored in when determing your quota...

And remember - Stevie Ray Vaughn lives forever!!!

I don't suppose this has made the national news yet but Kinky is running for Texas Governor. He figures if a wrestler can win in Minn., he can win here. I'm still waiting to meet anybody that likes Perry so he might have a chance.

Governor Kinky has a real ring too it I think. :)

Yeah and at the inauguration in Austin, he would wear a Yammauke and serve lox and bagels.

Sam Houston would roll over in his grave and everybody in Texas would turn in their Hummers for a rice-burning Kia.

That looks good to me. What about double bogey's? Negative points for those or what?

I suggest we indicate that double or higher is simply zero points..

Yeooouch...ya got me...but I can throw some birdies out there...the no negative for double or higher really protects the very high 'cappers.

Ima gonna get it back...

I have one last suggestion and this is a serious one.

We need one Captain of each team...I have participated in so many fun tournaments but frankly shit happens. We need one from each squad to be the boss....

I will not self-nominate - its poor form. I'd like to nominate bdcrowe as the US Captain.

All in Favor say Aye.

Aye!

Bdcrowe is now the Captain of the American team.

ROTW - please nominate and designate your Captain. You have 24 hours...

The Captains will be responsible for publishing the final rules and resolving questions and disputes as they arise - and believe me they Will come up from time to time.
