Randy Moss a Raider?

What the hell is wrong with Moss? He goes from a playoff team and potentially a decent chance next year to the bottom of the barrel.

The Raiders are the only team in the NFL where he will fit in. I hadn't heard the story yet but it doesn't surprise me. They were probably also the only team interested.

It's a double edged sword, really. After the Eagles game, I was quick to throw him overboard. His disregard for the team concept is unforgivable at times.

However, he makes Vikings games so fun to watch. It's honestly a great feeling to cheer for him. I know he's the bad guy, but the bad guy's only so bad when he's on your team. You still have a sense of pride when he jams it up the other teams ---. So, in that respect, it's tough to see him leave.

I also figured we'd get more for him...at least a proven stud defensive player and a middle round draft pick. I guess it's not a horrible trade. They'll have the 7th and 19th picks overall, plus an additional late rounder and Napolean Whoever. I've never even heard of him before this trade came up. Perhaps somebody knows something I don't.

Only time will tell. The Vikings were a different team last year without Moss. That's not to say they can't develop a gameplan that will work, but he made such an impact when he was on the field. The Vikings have a bunch of question marks now: Who will step up and play the #1 WR? Will they sign a Plaxico Burress or Derrick Mason? Will that defense get any better even if they had 10 first round picks. Doubt it.

So that's the long and short of it. Overall, I think this hit me harder than anticipated. It's crazy how I can get caught up in something as inconsequential as football, especially when it's tough to respect RM. But he was a Viking for seven years and it's tough to see him go.

I hate Moss. He exemplifies everything I don't want to see happen in the NFL.

But I agree, he's good and the Vikes really are nothing without him as a weapon.

Since when is Rice a raider again? He was traded to the Seahawks where he posted zero production. It's about time he hung it up. He's had his day, and then some.
