I currently play the MP 60s. I'm looking to replace my Cleveland wedges with the Mizuno MP R wedges. What lofts would you recommend with the PW on the MP 60s being 47 degrees? My Clev wedges are 50 and 56 degrees.

52 and 58?

54 and 60?

Thanks,

Robert

I’m playing a 52* 58* combo. I had a 60 in the bag and I just didn’t like it. I got a Cleveland 900 high bounce and I couldn’t open up or hit it on a tight lies, so I always just used my 56* for all my pitch shots. I went with a 58* CG10 low bounce and like it a lot the distance gap is a little better than my 56 52 combo.

52, 58.. that does leave 5* gap between PW and GW and 6* gap between GW and 58, but you should be fine...

Ive got 48, 54 and 60....

Six degrees of separation.

yup... i like that better than 47 52 68.... but he would need to bend his PW 1* weak for that.... which wouldnt actually be that hard, considering they are forged...

wouldnt it more advantageous to choose based on how far and well you hit them instead of the lofts? i know the lofts are a good starting point but I hit my nike 60 further than my titleist 60

If you decide on a 52º, I've got an MPR 52/10 black nickel in great shape I'll sell you.

My PW is 46 and I use a 52/56 combo...it works well for me.

whatever you feel comfortable with. i only carry 3 wedges, like you are looking to do. i dont mind having a small gap between wedges. i am very good at hitting feel shots like 1/2 and 3/4 shots with wedges. my pw is 46* so i carry 46,53,60* wedges. this set-up with lofts and bounce is perfect for me, and my course. ive been through lots of wedges (various racs, vokeys and 588s) and i can hit any shot needed with these 3. its all about demo'ing and finding the bounce/lofts that are good for you. my lofts just ended up being 7* apart.

i use two (49* & 55*) or three wedges (49*, 55*, 60*), depending how happy I am with my driver (10.5*)

47/53/56/60 i have 4 because i use both the 60 and 56 from sand depending on the sand, and both form the FW depending on FW

I don’t see the point in using 4 wedges anymore now that I went to a low bounce 58*. It’s my 95 and in club and if I need the extra bounce or loft I just open it up. I was almost hitting my 52 and 56 on top of each other last year and I defiantly have better yardage gaps this year.
