The same guy that wrote you about the "Vijay incident" wrote me the same form letter he sent you.

    So don't complain.

At least Canucks got served first.

Sorry if I'm butting into something that is none of my business but what is this letter and "the Vijay incident" ???

Vijay has been playing illegally in the USA. His work authorization had expired and he tried to slip by customs coming thru Canada. He is not allowed to play in the US until his VISA troubles are reconciled.

    Thanks for the explanation VtDivot.

I can see Vijay as the person who would do that type of thing...I think he is a world class golfer but as a person I just can't stand the guy.

    Thanks for the link Loop!

The incident I mentionned didn't really happen to Vijay - but something similar happpened to Stephen Ames a few years ago. He wasn't allowed in the US for a certain period, or maybe he was only allowed to compete (thurs-sun) kinda thing. It was very bizarre... I often wonder legally how it all works for pro sports athletes who are not americans, but living, working and earning money here. In that same thought, what about Euros who come over and make (little but some) money on US soil???

Anyone have expertise in this area?

True, Vijay doesn't even have his green card.
BTW, VtDivot's first name is Vijay (so as to avoid any confusions :) ).

    Now, where was that thread...

Holy crap - Vijay would stick out like a sore thumb in Vermont... i think Vermont was ranked as the state with the lowest % of minorities. I've been living here for 4 years now and can't get over how few cultures live here.

I'm also wondering about that too.
Does the money they win gets taxed by the IRS and then get taxed again in their country by their own Income tax? They have to declare it anyways since it's official money...

I wouldn't live in Vermont if their idea of exotic food is Hamburger with soya sauce
    (I love asian foods).

I only pay taxes to the US goverment, as I am not a resident of Canada. the guys that live overseas but compete in the US would have all the tax issues I bet. Vijay and the likes prob fill out there 1040's as I do (actually VJ prob has a fleet of accountants) I wonder what his status in the US is? I doubt he's made citizenship yet.

    He's still a Fijiian.

And a cheating one at that.

    But I love him.

That story that Monty wrote at GR about Vijay giving the finger to everyone in that restaurant that were talking shit about him was fantastic. I love it.

He doesn't get much respect because he speaks his mind. It costs him endorsements, but he doesn't care. He plays because he loves the game.

I mean, why else would you hit 3 million balls a year?

I really envy the guy's devotion and realism when it comes to this fake persona that everyone in the public eye is supposed to fall under.

I'd party with Vijay. Big time.

We'd pee on the USGA building after some Colt 45.

Man - you're right Besson does not get the respect, while most guys get the big deals, Montagle is off peddling Turtle Wax on the local channels.

I had no idea he hit 3 million balls a year either... ;)

Hey, if I had to go back and proof-read every piece of drivle that came out of my head, i'd go insane. ;)

    Up yours. :canadafla

I was being genuine.... ok, I was being an ass. On a side note does Besson ever hang out here??

For the record, I do not believe that Jorge will ever come here. He got burned pretty hard at doublegolf.com when they all turned on him and banned him for no reason. One of the bigger culprits involved is a fat old man from England named Creosote. They all betrayed him at doublegolf.com and then they kicked him when he was down. Montagle has never been nothing but friendly to them all...

Many of the members from doublegolf.com then went to golfreview.com and conspired to become moderators in order to ban Besson from golfreview.com.

Jorge/Besson must be pretty shell shocked at the way he has been betrayed and stabbed in the back, in the past...

I don't see Jorge ever coming here, unfortunately. Too many bastards are here right now, hiding...

always trying to take the black man down...
