I was on Golfsmiths website today and noticed that the HX Blue and Red were both absent. :wow:

I decided to look on Callaway's site and sure enough there was a 1/03/05 press release announcing the new HX Hot Golf Ball. They show the list price to be $32.99 which is right in line with the Blues and Reds. It's suppose to be very long and very soft so it may be replacing both of the others.

No tears now, you have to be a man about this. ;)

Now I have to find time to get by Golfsmith to see if they're discounting the Blues.

    That's horseshit!

I'm sending a letter. Why ruin my very existence on this earth by leaving me with half assed golf balls.

This is total crap. I was having a good weekend too. Bologna sandwich today, free dinner tonight, hitting golf balls in the cage.

I can't type anymore. The tears are blurring the screen. :(

    LOL - Thanks Rock.

I've had a tough day - needed a laugh before bedtime.

    All the best

On the bright side, the bologna will probably kill you before they run out of the Blues anyway. :D

I got some for Christmas but I'm going to be on the lookout for closeout pricing.

PS, those new kleenex with aloe are best for not rubbing your nose raw if you just can't stop the waterfall. ;)

It just keeps getting better and better.

I just got a letter from the Gov't stating that an incorrect value was entered on my tax return, and I'm short 600 bucks.

Oustanding. I guess I'll have to take back that 600 bucks worth of HX Blues I just bought.

Or the 600 bucks worth of Bologna.

I don't lose balls, I only find them.

I have a plastic bag full of Pro V's at home that are mint that I found last summer. I'm gonna sell them on E-bay.

This leads me to beleive that players that use Pro V's are poseurs.

I think that's pretty much bang on, hey?

Ya know I am a Pro-V1x player but I must say that I find these balls all the time on the course. There is no doubt that one factor is their popularity - but my impression was that due to their price - they were primarily used by better players. Not so.

Our practice range is adjacent to the ninth fairway. They are juxtaposed so that slices from the tee will fly toward each other. Over the years we have planted multiple rows of tall, dense holly bushes between the range and the fairway in an effort to stop the balls from going back and forth. But as you can imagine, they come over anyway.

I have found two pristine Pro-V1's in the range bucket, glimmering like pearls after going through the washing machine. This means that somebody playing this $4 ball hit a booming slice out of bounds from the ninth tee that carried two rows of hollies and a service road, landed on the range and was picked up by the ball machine.

One round last year, I found three nice ones on the course...in about two hours.

Yup this shows that there are a lot of rich, crappy golfers out there...

It's official, schedule the memorial service. Golfsmith is now offering the new HX Hot. $24.99

Thanks for getting me hooked on the Blues Rock. This is all your fault. :p

Over Christmas, based solely on Rocks reccomendation,I bought a dozen of the blues for the first time.

It was drizzeling, I shanked the first one 280 downrange and into the woods, took a drop and pitched....."nice feel" sez, I.

Second hole I hit a screaming 300 yard blast with a little fade on it and it landed in the middle of the fairway, "sweet ball" I think to myself.

By the time I got to the ball It was raining buckets, we waited in the cart for a bit and then bagged it....I haven't played since.

So now I have 11 blues in my bag that I may really like and you are telling me that I won't be able to get anymore!?

Yeah, that's pretty much the situation. They're no longer offered on the Golfsmith site but I'm hoping they have some leftovers at the store.

On the other hand, maybe their replacement is an actual improvement and not just and not just more marketing. :p Sorry, lost my head for a second.

From what I had read, the HX hot was to replace the Warbird model. It was the entry level of the HX series for next year. In anything I've read to date, nothing has mentioned of the replacement of the Blue's or the Red's....

(Or, at least that's what I wanna beleive. :D I have three sleeves left.....i'm gonna cherish each and every one of them....)

Donations to the "Rock's HX Blue Resurrection Fund" can be made out directly to me.... :(

You could be right, that would be nice. Maybe Golfsmith just decided to quit carrying them but that seems wierd.

In any case, since you don't lose golf balls, three sleeves should last you about a year and a half. :D

    True.

I don't lose many, just wear them out with my wedges. Only my 60* is starting to show wear and the others just eat covers for breakfast.

Sometimes for lunch, depends when i play. ;)

I'll give the "HX Hots" a shot tho. If they're cheap and stay in play, i'm down with that.
