Rusty the wedge

Any ideas how to accelerate rust on your wedges?
I've read that you should soak a piece of cloth in salted water and wrap the clubhead, and I know it works.
Question is, will I get faster rust if I drown the clubhead into a bucket of salted water?

Soak it overnight in Coke. This works. I've done it with all my rusty clubs, works great.

Keep in mind, however, that the line at which the coke reaches will dictate how much of the clubhead will rust faster. In other words, if you fill up to the hosel, it will create a line that will have faste appearing rust than that above the line. With me?

The Coke idea sounds ludacris, but it does work.

If you want pics of my wedges to prove it, i'll take some for ya.

I'll try it. Now, when you say Coke, you mean Coke as in Coca Cola, or Coke as in drug-addiction-substance?
More serioulsy, you soak it in a towel? Or just put the clubhead in a little bucket full of CocaCola?

Just a glass or jar. That would be a waste of Coca Cola to put it in a bucket(to answer your other question). :D

Put the club in and then fill up to the top of the hosel. Let it sit overnight. Then, wash off the coke. Keep the head wet and let it sit out for a couple of hours, overnight is better. The rust will come that very night. When I wash my wedges, i only wash the faces. The rust forms all over quickly, and almost between shots you get a little build up on the face. It's quite cool.

Let me know how it goes. Oh, and use cheap cola. They're all the same when it comes to wedges. ;)

Loop,

Here are my wedges. I cleaned them yesterday evening. Then, i left them wet and put them in my bag.

Here's how they came out. The 51* is the 588RTG. The 56* is a vintage Callaway and the 60* is a Gunmetal, just for comparison.

Nice Rock! Amazing results!
I bought 4 bottles of Coke. But I think I'll have to drink at least three bottle for myself.
I'll keep you posted on how it goes (I mean the rusting, not the coke drinking binge...).

Loop,

I'm your friend. Getting into coke will only hurt you, your friends and your family.

Call this a Shot Talk intervention. ;)

PS>....let me know how it goes. Be patient, it really does the trick!

I'm sorry, but it's really early in the morning. Is this a joke, and if not, shy would you do this?

Rusting your wedges can lead to increased friction on the clubface. This leads to better action on your ball...

I still think they should use Dr. Pepper. It is my longheld belief that the prune juice in Dr. Pepper leads to better movements.

Just my two cents worth.... :fart:
