It has been brought to my attention that I need a Driver shaft with a stiff flex, and a mid-low kick point. Are there any suggestions?

I need more info. What is your swing speed? What are you trying to do? Higher ball flight? Do you slice or hook the ball? What driver are you using?

Mizuno MP-001....maybe soon to be a Titleist. Not sure of my swing speed, but I know it's over 100...possibly 115-120? Higher ball flight would be better, and I tend to pull-draw the ball or block it out to the right (when I try to hold on too long...happens to most).

I would suggest an accrs t-60 M4. It is a stiff flex, mid launch low spin shaft.

It will help keep the ball straight and give you a very consistant ball flight.

Well...I've heard that Graffaloy, YS-6, and Fujikura or whatever make really good shafts, and I'm guessing they make stiff shafts with mid-kick like I need. Also, my instructor had a shaft, starting with M (I forget), and I hit it much straighter. Can you think of what it might be?

Probably a mitsubishi either rayon or diamana. The rayon is about $200 and the diamana is about $400. They are great shafts but very expensive.

Grafalloy has a new nano technology shaft that we tried out last week. It looks very good.

Thanks for all the other advice, but I know it wasn't a Mitsubishi.

How do you test shafts...is it possible?

We have several drivers that have different shafts to test.

You are looking for a mid launch, not kick and a low spin. If the guys you are talking to don't know these things please ask me before making a decision, not that I want to sell you anything, just want you to get the right shaft the first time.

I haven't tried yet, but I was just wondering, because how am I supposed to test the shaft on my driver?

A good fitter can use quick dry epoxy and you can hit a shaft within minutes.

A demo day is a good way to test shafts. There is a company called tour fit that has a trailer to make your club and have it ready the next day.

Alright thanks a lot. I'll look at your suggestion along with the Graffaloy, YS-6, and Fujikura...but do you think I should sell my Mizuno and get a Titleist driver? That's what my instructor had that I was hitting well.

If you were hitting it well I would try another one with the same set up and see if it works the same. If it does I would get a titleist.
