i've committed myself to the game now, i want to kick some ass this h.s. season, i've gone back to the TA1's, and theres some things i need to know

i had the lie adjusted to fit me when i originally bought these a year ago and the guy said they were now at 2 degrees upright, (thats so that the toe is sticking more in the air than before correct?) the toe seems to be really sticking up and my divots seem to be mainly more like a shallow line by the heel, and shots are traveling left

also, how can one tell if the grips on a club are too small, what are the consequences/results of that? how does one determine the correct size when picking out new grips?

thanks

If you have bigger hands, a smaller grip will have you bringing your hands over quicker, resulting in hooks.

It's easy to measure a grip. Just get a flexible tape and wrap it around. If it's smaller, just get another wrap of tape under that bad boy, it'll do the trick.

I tend to stick with the same grips all the time, that way I know what i'm getting time in and time out...

You should be able to get your lie adjusted quite easily with those "forged" TA1's.... :D (couldn't let it go, YG....lol)

I had mine checked when I first bought them, they were all fine. About a month later and 12 rounds or so, I had them checked and the 7 iron was 1* open. Everything else was to spec.

I think unless you're crushing your irons like pros are, I doubt having them checked more than once a year would be a problem.

Just my thoughts.

I came this close to buying a set of gunmetal TA1's with KJ Choi shafts in them....this close... :p

It is easy to check the lie. You will need a flat hard surface that won't hurt the club (don't use the kitchen floor, long story I wont go into now) and a piece of masking tape.

Put the tape on the sole of the club and take a couple of real swings, making sure you clip the ground. Look at the tape, the wear mark should be in the center. If it is toward the toe they need to be bent upright. If it is toward the heel the need to be flat.
