Well, in my "more problems" thread, everyone was very clear about staying away from contact sports, well, just turns out i'm being highly recruited to play kicker next year,
Ah, sorry loop, yes, for the H.S. football team, loop i forget where you're from, but yes American Football, not soccer or futbol as used everywhere else in the world,
Tough question. I'd hate to live life in anticipation of an injury, but you do have to be realistic.
My brother played football for two years in high school. Actually, he played in a cumulative 2 games. The first game he broke his collarbone. The next year he broke his femur. If you value golf, I would stay away.
Go ahead and play. These are your years to enjoy. Play some football, drink some beer, throw up. Not necessarily in that order of course.
If you're worried about getting hurt, don't play. This means you have zero confidence. But, if you think you can go out there and make every kick, then by god, do it.
H.S. Football ain't no thang. I was a walk on runningback until it got SUPER competitive and i quit. I had fun for a while, but hated being yelled at constantly for the worst reasons. Thanks, but life ain't about that. And football isn't the be all, end all. And it's not about some life journey or being a man. I'm glad i made that decision, my knees feel great.
Good luck Gun. Kick one for us, would ya?
Life's all about decisions and consequences. If you can live with the outcome, whatever it is then go forward. Don't avoid football just because you might get hurt and don't play just because someone else wants you to.
Have some fun, the real world will be here to greet you soon enough.
