Spike review...thoughts?

I'm looking at all my golf shoes (I have 5 pairs now) and I'm thinking of maybe doing a review on the different spikes that are out there. I just grabbed a set of Scorpions today to give a go. I have a few varieties of Softspikes (Black Widow, ect.) so I figured why not.

Would anyone be interested in something like that? I know it's just spikes, but I thought, what the hell...

I like the Scorpions a lot better then the Black Widows. I find the BW are too soft and pick up a lot more grass and leaves then the Scorps do.

What other soft spikes are there other then these two?

Softspikes makes the Pulsar and the Shadow as well. I've never used the Shadow as they don't see to be very agressive for my liking.

The Pulsars are supposed to be good. Basically an upgrade from the Widow.

I've used mostly Widows over the past 3 years and found them to be great. My only complaint might be that the wrench holes stretch super easy and you can screw them up when tightening them. But, other than that, they've worn great.

The jury is still out on the Scorpions, but i'll let you know.

Well, I busted one of the Black Widows last week, and I almost never got the remains out so I could screw another one in. One of the holes was gone. Thank God for visegrips.

I guess when all my Widows run out, I'll have to try the Scorpians.

Since the jury is still out, I'll let you know if I agree with you when it gets back in. Then again, I probably won't be wearing golf shoes too much for the next 2 months, so by that time they may have a Rattlesnake or something on the market. Man, would that ever annoy the playing partners.

I do hate how easily the holes in the Widows, or what is left of them come apart when changing them

Maybe I'm gay too, but I would be interested in spike reviews. I'd like to see data on durability, and which are aggressive, yet don't get caked in grass.
