I'm looking for any recommendations for golf stores San Jose, CA, or the immediate vicinity.

I'm currently taking lessons, and my instructor highly recommends that shop there at the driving range, but I find it has a limited selection (no Nike or Adams, which I was looking at).

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm not from San Jose but I looked at Golfsmith's website and they have a store there. They generally have a big selection and decent prices.

It you go to www.golfsmith.com and click on store locater you can get directions.

Yeah, I've been there and it looked very nice. Like a giant candy store! I'm hoping that someone who's had experience there will let me know his/her opinion, especially concerning their club fitting.

see if there is a Nevada Bob's or ProGolf Discount in your area. Usually a bit lower on prices, and they carry most everything Golfsmith does.

Dick's Sporting Goods (while not being solely a golf retailer) has a huge golf selection and great prices and they usually have someone very well qualified on the floor to help.

I'll second Dick's. I bought a lot of equipment at the one in Pittsburgh and found them to be very good.

Dick's sucks.....more left handed stuff in one place than anywhere else on earth.

Golfsmith is the way to go if it's available to you.

Dick's sucks.. lol.

Golfsmith sucks Di--

Nevermind...

I've never had an issue with Dick's Sporting Goods, I find that they always have a huge selection of stuff. I never even heard of GolfSmith before I came here, and I definitely haven't seen one.

Yeah, I left that there thinking rockford would use the opening but you beat him to it. :)

Dick's is just ok....if you ever get to a golfsmith store you'll never be the same.

Well, seeing as the closest Dick's Sporting Goods is over 500 miles away in Nevada, I think it warrants a second trip and closer look at Golfsmith.

Thanks for all the comments.

You don't have a clue, Sling.. with one nearby, you get all the jokes thrown around..

My brother and I were looking around for a new set for him. I love shopping for golf stuff, even if it's not for me, so I figured I'd suggest a different place.

"Hey, do you wanna go look at Dick's?"

Brother's response

"Uh, no I don't wanna go look at Dicks. Do you?"

Terribly funny the way he was so shocked that I said it too. Gotta love stores named after genitals. Good marketing.
