Hi I'm new to this forum. I used to play golf back in high school
but haven't touched a club in over 10 years. I recently borrowed
my cousin's clubs and played 9 holes. While I was pretty terrrible
and only parred on one hole it was really fun!

I'd like to start playing regularly again and I'm wondering if somebody
can suggest a good set of clubs for me. I don't know if I'm still
considered a beginner and hopefully it won't take too long to get some
consistency back in my swing.

Thanks!

A set of Mizuno MX 950 Hybrid irons caught my eye.. any thoughts on this set?
is it important to pay extra for the graphite shafts?

welcome.

first off, everyone is going to recommend their own things that they like, and why thats fine, I'd like to learn a few things before recommending anything.

a) how good were you before taking your 10 year hiatus?

b) how often do you plan to play now?

c) how old are you?

d) what do you feel that you really struggle with the most?

e) are you looking for the whole deal, drivers fairway woods/hybrids, irons, wedges, putter...or just a couple?

f) what is your budget?

answer those, and we'll go from there.

Again, Welcome.

I think I was pretty decent.. Maybe not super consistent but I would par or bogey every other hole. This may not matter however as I completely lost my swing. 10% of my shots now are nice and straight with the majority ending up slicing pretty bad

b) how often do you plan to play now?
I'm hoping to play 2 rounds a month

c) how old are you?
I just turned 30

d) what do you feel that you really struggle with the most?
I guess what I struggle with most, besides consistent drives, is approach shots like chipping onto the green

e) are you looking for the whole deal, drivers fairway woods/hybrids, irons, wedges, putter...or just a couple?
I may not need a FULL set but I'd like enough to play a good round every couple weeks and improve my overall game

f) what is your budget?
I'd like to spend under $500. I do need everything however (clubs, shoes, gloves, balls, tees, etc)
If it can be a lot under $500, hey, even better

I hope that helps to get the ball rolling.. Thanks!
