I didn't want these pictures to get lost in the general shuffle of the intro thread, so this thread will be all about the blade putter and what it goes through from concept to finish.
I had a tough time staying asleep, so I'll get some pictures of the transformation up for you guys to check out. It is one of my favorites, by far and will really fill a niche that SSB has been missing out on.
I'll try to choose the ones that you really want to see, but it is a crap-shoot, LOL.
Here are a few that show what the putter went through to get to the stage that it is at, right now, ready for a hosel.

THE DESIGN STARTS AS BLACK LINES ON A MALLET

This was far more exciting for me to see come to shape than these pictures suggest. The hosel will be made by early on Saturday and I hope to get the welder to do his thing, by afternoon.
Remember, this is just the first prototype, also. I may do a little altering to the shape of the next one until I get EXACTLY what I am seeing in my mind's eye, so to speak.
Thanks for checking in and keep yer eyes peeled. This is going to be one gorgeous piece, all done up.

Looks V.nice.... almost Napa-esq in shape, Is it gonna be a true heel shafted Toe flow blade style? What will the head weight work out at?

The first proto will be a true heel-shafted blade, with a neck that is very similar to the 8802's and the like.
Weight will be around 345-350 grams on this one, if I do it as I hope to. It will be very easy to make weights as people request them, lighter if needed.
I like my putters around 340 grams and it seems that every tour putter that we are making for the guys who make a living with the club, is from 335-345 grams.
Stay tuned and we'll have more.
Thanks,

As most of you know, these beautique putters haven't been my cup of tea. But this one strikes a chord for me.

Very, very nice. :wow:

Yep. Best of the bunch to date by far, IMO. I would love to give that a review.

How much for the fingerprint option? ;)

Well done, guys.:thumbs up:

Indeed, if you want any testers, I've got a Scotty Napa, I'd be happy to compare the 2 for ya'll, :D

Especially if you put some kind of alignment line or dot on it.

Are you kidding me? Leave it as is. Less is always better.

R35

I agree it looks better the way it is. But the only reason I'm not bagging the Napa is its lack of an alignment aid. I just can't putt as well without one. Wish I could, cuz I love the way my Napa looks and feels. :unhappy:

Great thing about custom instead of off the rack is that we can do whatever you want to it. We have no plans at the current time to add any of these to the demo program, but we still have not released these into production yet. We are going to see how the reception is to the Mallet, 8802, and the Zing headstyle.

The Zing will be named the Ocracoke, the 8802 and mallet have not been named yet.

With you being Sunset Beach you could call the 8802 & mallet the Newquay & Padstow. Coastal/Seaside towns in Cornwall, the English Riviera... or as close to what we have.

This little gem has a name, as of tonight.
It is now the "LOLA". We strive to keep the names of our putters reflect Sunset Beach's location of North Carolina and try to stick to coastal areas. Lola is a small town, off of Pamlico Sound, I believe. If this is inaccurate, please let me know.
I love the way that "Lola" just rolls off the tongue, like the silky smooth look of this pure blade.
Thanks guys,

I have to admit Lola does seem to fit.

Good thing ya'll aren't based on the Gulf Coast. Pascagoula wouldn't be a good of a fit,
