Hi everyone, thanks again to everyone who gave suggestions about places to play while I was visiting Sydney on vacation. My wife and I visited lasted week, and I have to first say Sydney is a blast, a terrific city to visit in so many ways! Golf wise there are so many great options to choose from, it was a difficult choice. However I choose to play at Eastlake Golf Club and have no regrets whatsoever. Located a reasonable distance from our hotel. First of all the weather was perfect, and Eastlake was in fantastic condition. Fairways were lush, greens were in great shape, albeit a bit slower than what I am used to back home in Texas. While Eastlake plays shorter than my home course, it is packed full of plenty of challenges. Struggled a bit on the front nine while getting use to the rented clubs and course conditions, I found my stride on the back for a very enjoyable day. I was paired with three other gentlemen who were delightful to play with, so thanks to Russ, Larry, and Tin. The only thing missing is a driving range, which would have been nice to have for warming up, but in fairness I often play with minimal warm up anyway. Anyway, thanks to everyone for your suggestions, they all helped me make a well informed decision for my first round “down under”!
