Taking relief from a cart path?

I don’t think I have to mark the nearest point of relief with a tee and then mark out one club length with another tee, then drop between them, it just says drop within one club length of the nearest point of relief not nearer the hole.

Is that right?

Right, aaaand, it's nearest point of complete relief. Build your stance with the club you intend to use, put a tee at the club head, from there you get your club length. And in that radius place a tee no nearer the hole, and that is your relief area

The rules don’t say anything about placing tee’s or measuring with a club?

Yes they do and the tees (or any object really) are used to mark that clublength.

Maybe you need a new book. Greg's post is very clearly from the USGA and says exactly what he told you.

Mine is a little old usga 2012 to 2015
A club length means a club length.
But it does not say you have to use tee’s and actually measure your driver?

A club length is a unit measure and they use tees to mark the drop zone because all golfers have tees. Jesus Christ! What a fucking loon.

it’s a common practice,
tee’s and a driver are customarily used and
You are free to do so but the rules don’t say it’s required!
More power to ya!
