Annika Sorenstam is the best golfer ever, either man or woman.

Everyone raves over Tiger's cut streak.....Annika has missed one since 2000. She's equalled Tiger's major number now. She's utterly dominated the sport.

As everyone knows here, i'm somewhat biased because i like her moustache, but she's unequalled in terms of domination in any sport.

There I said it.

Bring on the flack. :)

Not sure if she is really the best golfer ever but I'm pretty sure she does have the best moustache. :wow:

She is just so machinelike...the number of errors is tiny. And the 300 yard drives are phenonenal. She weighs maybe 135?

Yup, if she was the size of Laura Davies, she would ruin everyone on the planet earth.

Raping, pillaging - nothing could stop her. Even the sheep would run for their lives!

She'd take Vijay to the woodshed. He'd be on a Slow Boat to Fiji - wondering what hit him.

The Godzillawomanman of golf.

That's what made me say this.

Any highlights of her (I saw some at lunch) could be any tournament. She's a machine. Her swing is textbook perfect and she executes beautifully.

Her moustache is more pronounced in that picture Dave. She using the same hair dye as you? :)

Mine's falling out too fast to have time to turn gray.

She is awesome. An article I read last week was tallking about her practice on the range and how you could tell it was her by just the sound. That has to be intimidating for the other ladies.

And every week you can read quote after quote from other players all repeating that they are playing for second place. If she completes the slam this year your argument for best ever will start to look legit.

She is utterly brilliant,I agree. But hitting wedges to par 4s all the time isn't a fair test to decide if she is better than Woods. And her tache really suits her in that pic

I've felt for a while that strictly speaking on an athelete as they compete against their peers, she is unrivaled. I've also said for a long time than the average golfer should pattern their swing after her as opposed to Tiger, Vijay, etc...

And Dave, I think the mustache has gotten more noticeable since she started waxing it up into the handlebar.

Watching her play this weekend through the marvels of TiVo made me appreciate her game even more. It's not so much the pinpoint accuracy with her irons, nor her putting. It's not her wedge game that impresses me. What leaves me speechless is how effortless and easy her swing looks. While watching other players on both the PGA and LPGA tour seem to coil up and uncoil like a corkscrew (Tiger for example seems to swing out of his shoes sometimes), Annika's swing looks so simple, compact, and doesn't even look like she's swinging a club. While Wie looks to put a ton of torque in her shot, while Davies does all these weird stance and tee locations prior to her shot, Annika simply pulls back and fires.

What's even more impressive is that she knows exactly when to play aggressive and when to lay up and play it safe. There countless times when you see Tiger try a shot that when it works out for him it's simply marvelous (the shot with the errant 3 wood from the Memorial where he hit the ball through the trees is one), but there's so many times when he's off. Or when you see Davies go for the green in two with her driver off the fairway and ends up shanking one, Annika is one of the most controlled players I've seen. On the rare occasions what she does get a bogey, she seems to shake it off and move on better then anyone I've seen. She's definately the best LPGA golfer I've seen, and probably pound for pound, one of the best, if not the best golfer in the world.

I've got one stat for you all....Between 1999 and 2001, Tiger Woods won 22 out of 44 tournaments he played in (thats 50%) and made 35 top tens. That my friends is the greatest run we will probably ever see in any tour.
