<o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" http:="" www.shottalk.com="" forum="" images="" smilies="" redface.gif="" border="0" alt="" title="Embarrassment" smilieid="2" class="inlineimg"></o:smarttagtype> The last few years, in our December mailer, I do a year end wrap up. Basically a look back on the top selling components from our doors,the year.<o></o>
<o></o>
Since almost all of you are not on or mailing list...I decided to copy you here to review and discuss.<o></o>
<o></o>
Now bear in mind this list by no means should infer they are the best in their respective category (since everything is subjective)…nor does it mean they are MY favorites…..actually some of my favorites aren’t even on this list. The following is simply what our sales numbers show.<o></o>
<o></o>
DRIVER

<o></o>
Pretty much a tie between the Geek DCT and Infiniti KO. Both released the year before, but who’s popularity spilled well into 2008….but petered out by mid to late 2008. The latter part of 2008 has been a dog fight between a few other companies.<o></o>
<o></o>
Honorable mention….<o></o>
Wishon 919 THI was a big seller….the highest MOI of any club we tested made this reliable monster a winner.<o></o>
<o></o>
FAIRWAY<o></o>
No contest here…it was the Geek fairway….incredible performer..hot face, perfectly located center of gravity…awesome feel.<o></o>
<o></o>
HYBRIDS

<o></o>
2008 was almost split in half like a razor in this category. January thru early June we sold Infiniti XS maybe 3 to 1 over anything else…then from June to now, the Alpha Low Pro has been the killer head. With it’s elegant jet black color, powerful feel and brilliant ball control…it is easily the #1 going out our doors.<o></o>
<o></o>
Surprisingly, the #2 head throughout the entire year was the Bang – Matic.<o></o>
<o></o>
IRONS<o></o>
I decided this year to add sub categories based on skill level and price levels<o></o>
<o></o>
Mid – High Handicap (cast)

Easy winner here…the Infiniti Assure irons…with the wide sole to prevent digging, exaggerated cavity back…yet designed in a way they are not visible at address made this easily the best selling iron of the year. period…so it was obviously the best selling for the mid/high handicappers….and GREAT value!<o></o>
<o></o>
Mid Handicap (cast)

<o></o>
Alpha RX-2 irons…a sweet looking and feeling head that offers more playability than most heads at that size and price point….actually, the ENTIRE Alpha line is very under rated and could easily be top of the list in every category if more people knew about them.<o></o>
<o></o>
Mid Handicap (forged)

<o></o>
The easy winner here is from the company you probably never heard of…..the HPG Irons from Horsepower Golf.<o></o>
Designed by World Long Drive champion Pat Dempsey, these irons are forged to incredibly tight tolerances….a relatively slim sole and thin top line…but with the weight balanced along specific areas in the CB, remain really forgiving for such shallow looking heads.<o></o>
Plus, these heads, with the simple Horse head logo are breathtakingly beautiful.<o></o>
<o></o>
Low Handicap (forged)<o></o>
(Warning! Don’t read this unless you are a low handicap with deep pockets……)

<o></o>
Miura Blade Irons.<o></o>
<o></o>
The name alone makes ya wanna take a deep breath and say “If only I could!”.<o></o>
<o></o>
The founder of this 50 –some odd year company, Katsuhiro Miura, made the Titleist irons that Tiger woods hit before he went to Nike….before and since, they are the foundry companies go to for the best quality….. a few years back, Katsuhiro decided to make a brand under his name…..with every iron being grinded, inspected and approved by him or one of his sons.<o></o>
<o></o>
Yes, this means expensive, very expensive….but there is not a better made iron on the planet.<o></o><o></o>
<o></o>
WEDGES<o></o>

3-Way tie here…… I would say 90% of all wedge sales were between the following three offerings:<o></o>
<o></o>
Horsepower Golf<o></o>
Infiniti IP-3<o></o>
Wishon CX-Micro
<o></o>
IRON SHAFTS (steel)<o></o>
FST
True Temper
KB
<o></o>
IRON SHAFTS (graphite)<o></o>
Graman C230
Integra i-drive
<st1:city w:st="on"><st1>Accra i-series</st1></st1:city><o></o>

WOOD SHAFTS (<$100)<o></o>
TourSwing Avenger
Graman UL Sries
UST V.2
<o></o>
WOOD SHAFTS (>$100)<o></o>
Matrix Ozik
<st1:city w:st="on"><st1>Accra</st1></st1:city>
Aldila Voodoo (late to the dance but showing promise)

Can those Geek fairways be built any flatter than spec? I'd have to go a little too short on my shaft lengths at those lie angles.

I really need to try one of those DCT drivers one of these days. How are they as to spin?

With the Creation I don't think I have a chance at ballooning the 9* DCT. Was wet last round I played so I couldn't tell you what the rollout would be in the summer but so far I'm impressed.

Lie angle within 4-5* is pretty much a non issue at longer lengths and lower lofts.

confused me for a bit. this is only a hot list for indacupgolf.

You're right...I didn't make that clear enough...I meant OUR sales...not nationwide.

I am certain that other companies experience different sales patterns based on the manufacturers they carry..

For example, companies like MyOstrich #1 driver was probably SMT because of the relationship they have with them...whereas we have chosen not to carry the SMT line.

So the info I have shared is just "our" history.
