I just played and man, did I play crappy. I could barely even make contact with the ball, my scores were all over the map, and so was my ball.

Check out these stats that lead a round of 93 on a 130/69.8 course (strangely low rating because the course can be quite tough and played about 150 yards longer than it's stated 6311 today).

    Score: 93
    Triples: 4
    Doubles: 2
    Bogies: 6
    Pars: 5
Birdies: 1 (although I had a good chance at one or two more)

This is where it gets good:

    Fairways: 3
Greens: 3 (all on the back, two of them on par 3s)
Putts: ...28! (13-15). I think that was a function of not hitting greens...chipping was decent because I was "just off" on a lot of greens...and fairways for that matter.

It was just a really weird round that was all over. I'd love to see the pros play rounds like that...make things a bit more interesting when you NEVER know what'll come next.

    Ah, life as a hacker.

Oh yeah, and I didn't deserve the birdie - I thinned a 5I into a bit of a pull-fade on a 185 yard par 3 that left me with about 6 feet. Always funny how these things work out.

Turn the triples and doubles into bogeys and it's an 83. Hell, you couldn't even hang out in here if you did that.

All last year our club manager kept stressing to me how I had to avoid the big numbers and then my scores would come around. I'm a slow learner but eventually I figured out there are places where 3 wood makes more sense than driver.

By avoiding the triples and having fewer doubles my index has gone from 16 to 14 in last couple of months. I hoping to kick myself our of here soon, but we'll see. It is golf ya know. :p

Well, I think I'm getting closer to kicking myself out of here. 89 tonight. First time breaking 90. Includes a quad on a par 3 and 4 doubles on the back. No triples though.

Had to sink a putt from off the 18th...powered it into the stick to par out the 18th for the 89.
