Well, The Open Championship has started.

I'm feeling immense amounts of regret that I never took this week off to go back home and spend the week at St Andrews.

Jack playing his last Major...Tony Jacklin playing in tribute to Nicklaus...all the big names there...weather looking good.

Damn, damn, damn.

The boys are going low - shit. Jack needs some bad weather tomorrow or to shoot the lights out if he wants to play on the weekend :(

Tiger goes low early

Apparently he fashioned a six under despite getting into three bunkers.

His mother was in London during the attack and he mentioned this prominently in his interview...

He has lurked ever since the win in Augusta. He may well add his second major of the season on Sunday.

Looks like Fred is hanging in there with -1 today but it really might not matter. Tiger's -5 today puts him 4 strokes ahead of everybody and that's a big lead for him in a major.

But the old course has a passion for eating people for breakfast. How many times have we seen guys take 7's on par 3's and 10's on par 4's? Even mighty Jack did that a few years back

That's why they play 72 holes, and not 36. ;)

tiger has gotten pretty lucky with the weather in his first 18. his first round was early in the morning with not much wind, but it blew pretty good in afternoon, then today there was pretty much no wind for anybody. i hope the wind blows hard the last 36 holes!!!!

Now that tee times are based on score, it would be pretty difficult for Tiger to lose the lead because of weather. It would be out of character for him to have a meltdown too.

It's far from over, but he is firmly in the driver's seat.
