No, just there for a short vacation, came home Friday night. Plenty of rodeo folks in town, though.
Nice.

I had one real sketchy night...ended up in the Aria at like 4AM after walking probably 5 miles....saw some things that can't be unseen. One poor chap looked like he was on his way back to his room for some 'fun', but I'm about 99% sure he was getting a lot more than he bargained for once 'she' took her dress off....

FYI All - The Greek joint in the MGM, fantastic gyros. Virgil's BBQ by The Linq is OK, but it's not 'real bbq' IMO. You can't even get just brisket....the only brisket they have is on a sandwich. Shake Shack is probably the best quick burger in town. Live music at O'Shea's by The Linq is great and pretty fun atmosphere/ppl.

We ended up hitting both of Tom Colicchio’s restaurants, Hertiage Steak at the Mirage and Craft Steak at the MGM. The wife is a fan of Top Chef and she has wanted to go to his restaurants for a long time. Great meals, but lighten the wallet a bit. Nine Fine Irishmen in NY NY was a good meal and we happened to hit it during happy hour so beer prices were a bit more reasonable. We had a good burger at the Burger Lounge at the Aria, better than I was expecting. The Still at the mirage was just OK, kind of like a food truck in the middle of a casino, but the alcohol prices did not match the fare. Finished off with lunch at Spago in the Bellagio before we flew home. It was a great meal, kind of wishing we had dinner there rather than at the Still before we went to see Mystere.

Vegas has changed a bit since the last time I had visited, some of it for the better and some of it for the worse. It seems as though they have finally given up on the fun for the whole family concept they were pushing in the 90’s and pulled out a lot of that type of attractions / entertainment. The downside is that a lot of the free/cheap entertainment is gone and it costs $20 minimum to do just about anything.

I wanted to go to Craft Steak...passed it every day going to the conference. Bit too pricey for my expense reports though...

Nine Fine Irishmen was on the list, but we never made it there, we tend not to go into the NYNY for whatever reason...right across the street, but I never stepped foot in it. I've been in there in previous trips though. I was also going to go to Yama Sushi, which is off the strip, but it's an AYCE Sushi for $25. I guess it's one of the best in LV too. Just never worked out. I always have all these plans to go to places but time gets in the way and we always get whatever is close. Virgils was one I wanted to go to and it was pretty good. Got In-N-Out too which was better than I expected, not as good as Shake Shack though.

We have In and Out in Texas. I had heard so much about it that we tried it out when one opened one a town over. Was not very impressed. Tried one in San Francisco last April figuring maybe it was better in California, it wasn’t. It’s not horrible, but not all that it has been hyped up to be.

We went to see Zumanity in NY NY so we ate there prior to the show and had walked through it on our way to Craft Steak.

I miss my favorite restaurant in Vegas which is now gone. In what used to be the Monte Carlo (Now Park MGM and Nomad), there was a microbrewery/restaurant back by the tram to Bellagio entrance. They Brewed their own beer offerings on site and had a good pub style menu that was not ridiculously over priced. When I was going to Vegas quarterly for meetings around the turn of the century, I used to eat there regularly. I was greatly disappointed to see that it is long gone and replaced by conference space and a new pool area when we took the tram from Bellagio on our way to NY NY.
