Played 9 holes last Saturday and shot a 42 which is a little better than average for me. I feel so confident with my Pings. Playing 18 today. Am tempted to play with some MacGregor Tourneys that I found at Goodwill yesterday. But, I'm just obsessed with my Pings right now. While I was experimenting with my Spaldings I sent my Pings in to be refinished and had them etch my name into them. They look beautiful.

Played with these yesterday. Shot my all-time best score of 79. Putter was on fire.

Played for a long time with blades and persimmon. I played pretty well them and it was fun to find that treasured 1950’s MacGregor persimmon. Wood brothers golf in Houston made the Texan persimmon and a couple of other models.

Part of what brought on metal woods was that golf balls like top-flute and pinnacle were so hard you could easily shatter a very valuable persimmon wood. People, like myself, who tried to remain traditional only played balata balls.

if you decide to try blades and persimmons be careful and don’t ruin a still valuable collectors club by hitting hard balls with it.

Just in case some of you don't know what my new sticks look like I have posted them. Still waiting on my putter so I can't post pictures of them just yet. I know it is going to be a process getting acclimated to these new clubs. But I'm going to play with them all season. I really like the way the look. I have hit some balls on a lunch monitor, but can't see or feel much of a difference. But when the weather gets better I will definitely be out there in the course to put these new sticks to the test. At the end of the year, if I don't like them I can always just sell them off and go back to my Pings. If I do like them then I will keep them.
