Tiger had back fusion surgery ... I have a fused back because a Ankylosing Spondolitis. Tiger's doing great ... but I'm 15 years older and have had this most of my life.

I'm thinking of trying Single Length clubs to keep me in a more constant upright position. Anyone here have experience with these?

My youngest son is wanting to start playing and I would really like to be there with him. But I have to find ways to accomodate my aging body!

Thanks

I had Ankylosing Spondilitis when younger. I took Karate to stay flexible and indocin which in 1% makes you deaf. I was the 1%. I don't have issues with the different length clubs. Hope you can play the game.

Funny you say that. I took Tai Kwon Do in high school and have considered it a thousand times since. As long as I'm mobile I'm pretty good. Laying on the couch ... no bueno!

I'm semi-retired and need something to get my butt in gear. I think golf is the ticket.

The ink never dries on WBL's club list before he changes drivers. The rest of us have our clubs for years and ….. Woops! Some of us have our clubs for years and ….. Woops! A couple of those who post here keep their clubs for a while.:D

Welcome to Shot Talk! We're a small group but a bunch of really good guys. Well, except for ……………………. :p

Oh, and we require extremely short posts. As few words as possible. And I follow that rule to the letter!!!!!

FWS (Nick) and PaPaD (Steve) both have had single length sets of irons fairly recently. Greg may have dinked around with them also. It boils down to what ever makes the game easier on body and mind. Both Nick and Steve left the single length irons and went back to traditional clubs. Their issues aren't back/physical, though. (Just mental!!!) :D:D

Welcome to the circus! The Single Length Irons concept make sense to me in the upper lengths (4, 5, 6), but I am not a fan of over length short irons (8, 9, W). Being a senior player who does not make enough club head speed to properly launch a 4, 5 or 6 iron, SLI did not do anything for my game. I use a 9 wood and 6 hybrid to cover the 4, 5 and 6 iron distances.

Agreed, had decent success with single length but it wasn’t eye opening wow enough of a difference to make it stick for me. Luckily I was able to sell mine for more than I had in them because the craze was still in full swing.

With that being said, it might be able to help you as I believe the theory is solid. Wish you the best of luck!!!
