His own tournament. :)

He was looking good today....alot of irons off the tee, I guess he wasn't taking any chances.

The crowd was bogus....alot of idiots in the gallery, although I do like seeing monty get pissed off.

And Padrig! What's with the hair color, man? He may have had the blonde streaks for ages but this is the first time I have noticed it.....YUCK.

I was absolutely furious at the crowd cheering when Monty was missing putts and fairways. That is an ABSOLUTE embarrassment to the U.S. and ALL of it's fans that cheered that absolute jackass on.

Sure, Monty maybe didn't handle it well, but he shouldn't be put in that position, period.

Hang your heads today boys, once again the stars and stripes is embarrassed in front of a national audience.

I'm not blaming grouping anyone here into that crowd, don't get me wrong, but that was just assinine.

Tiger got it too, on 17 I think it was.

You are right though....total BS by the crowd.......I shouldn't say that, total BS by a couple of classless toadstools that farked it up for the rest of us.

If I ran this tournament - or any like this - I would have security jack these guys into the parking lot.

Agreed. They showed their asses...

It's funny that both of responded how I would have at the tournament.

I would have gotten my ass thrown out yelling at that friggin bastard in the crowd.

Maybe Monty would have signed a hat for me.

"Hey, Monty! How about, y'know, something for the effort?"

And if he would have given me that "total enlightenment" speech, that woulda made my day.

If I was Tiger, I woulda manned up and said something to that dick. Plain and simple. Make it known that his kind ain't welcome, even if he's rooting for El Tigre....

Guys,

please fill me in on what was said - I did not see any coverage of this tournament...

BTW - I heard Tiger has a new driver in his bag - is this true? If so, what is it?

Thanks

:)

They showed a closeup of his bag on TV, but I couldn't see his shaft.

Then they showed a close up of his golf bag, and I couldn't see the shaft in his driver either. ;)

It looked like the same Ignite Tour that he's been using, and the prototype Grafalloy shaft he's been using for some time. I remember reading somewhere that he's somewhat sick of changing equipment, so he's sticking with everything in his bag for a while now til his "swing changes" come around.

I guess, judging by the last two tourneys, that they have.

Clearly I missed something here. Played golf all day Sat. and was also watching the Packers nearly lose at home again on Sunday. One of the times I had it on the announcers made some comment about Monty putting his hands on his hips as if he was pissed about another player making a good shot. Is that what started it? I guess someone else got ejected after a comment directed at Tiger too.

I'd sure hate to see golf head in the direction of other sports like pro basketball, soccer or sycncronized swimming. :p

Rocky, stop looking into Tiger's bag, you'll go blind. :wow:

Short version:

Monty was getting haggled all day. Then, on about the 10th green, he missed a 7 footer, and a guy in the crowd starting yelling very loudly "Yes! Yes!".

Monty stared him down and shook his head in disbelief. Tiger did nothing. Monty's caddie tried to calm things down a bit.

Through the next few holes, mixed cheers and cat calls could be heard throughout the crowd.

Then, on one hole, someone who obviously respected Monty as a golfer, made a poor reaction over a Tiger miss, and promptly was ejected.

Terrible.

I'm not a Monty fan, but I am a golf fan, and that was just bloody unreal.

The americans embarresed them selves I would come across to alot of people as quite cocky and boytrious but no offense to Americans they just embarresed themselves yesterday and made a bad name for golf, I would never make a fool out of myself by doing something like that.

And the shaft that tiger is using is a graffoly x-stiff low kick point shaft it isnt a prototype I emailed him last week. Seriously.

remind me again...

why Monty gets so much crap? I don't get it at all. The guy is pretty dang solid outside of the US. Is this just a case of the crowds getting on him becasue they know it affects him? I agree that it is out of hand and it's a shame because it just means that he'll play here less.

As for "get in hole!", yup, that's old, REAL old! Although I think my favorite shout was at the Skins Game a couple of weeks ago when someone yelled out that Tiger put it in the drink on purpose during the playoff... friggin' moron.

BTW, the course they played at the Skins Game, Trinity, can be played for dirt cheap in the off-season (~$35)! Who's up for a trip to Palm Springs?! ;)
