Anyone have any opinions on these irons? I desperately need a new set for this summer when i am going to start golfing a lot more, but I can't afford much. I think I am going to go with a regular shaft, but Im also not sure about that. Unless someone can recommend something else that is fairly cheap, i will probably go with those, which should be much better than my old crappy wilson's. I am not a horrible golfer, I just haven't been able to play much in a few years because of college, and am not that knowledgable about equipment.

I love the original 845s. The fs is supposedly a more modernized version w/ shorter hozel etc... Armours are great clubs.

You have made an excellent choice. They are very good clubs that help you hit it straighter. They are very reasonably priced And have resale value.

Go git em and dont look back.

Spend money on lessons.

Good. You are showing good judgement.

Find a pro and tell them you want a series of 3-4 lessons over the next 4 months. Work with them during this prime season and look forward to September. You will be a much better player by then.

One of my oldest friends just got two lessons and he is improving rapidly now..

You can't beat that design and they are fairly cheap. That is a great all around club.

The fs will not have the same resale as the originals, but they will be great clubs, suitable from beginner to advanced-- they'll grow with your game, so resale isn't really all that important.

the only other thing I am thinking about is the clubs at pinemeadowgolf.com are supposed to be decent as well. From what ive been reading, forged and blade style irons are harder to hit, but will get you to correct your swing, while other more foregiving clubs will not make you change your swing much. Any truth in that?

That depends on the level you are at. If you have a pretty consistent swing already, blades can help refine it with practice. If you are a beginner, blades will cut you so deep, you'll bleed double-bogies for a long time.

I am not exactly a beginner, I feel that my swing is decent, I just lack experience, especially lately. I played for the first time in a year a week ago and had a birdie, par, couple bogeys, lots of doube bogeys and a bunch more higher.

I'd go with the Armours and do it right away. You'll invest only $200 and get undeniably good clubs for someone coming back into the game.

Use them for a period of time and when you are ready to move along to something else - you'll get 65% of what you paid for them in the first place.

Damn good value for good, solid equipment.
