Booked a trip to play Turnberry on 18th December there today. Been wanting to play this place for many years, and now the time has come :)
Heading to a football match (corporate hospitality an' all !) on the Saturday, go out and get completely trashed that night in 'Glasgee', then down to play one of the two courses at Turnberry on the Sunday, stay in the 5* hotel there that night, play the other course after breakfast the following day, then return home.

All in all, the makings of a top, top weekend. Bring it on - can't wait !! :) :) :)

Anyone ever played the Hallowed Links there . . ?

:sc: :ukflag: :sc:

I've not played Turnberry championship course, but the other one is nice. Quite difficult though.

My home course is about 30 mins drive from Turnberry.

I hit six birdies round the Ailsa and still didn't manage to break 80! (In what can only be described as probably my most up and down round.)

Great spot, I've been lucky enough through work to have played there 3 times, and each time was fantastic. You'll really enjoy it, some class par 4s, 6th, 7th, 8th ?? and the 9th as KA said is the Money Hole. Go right to the back tee and hope the breeze is into yer face and you'll see what faces you!

Sounds like a great w/e Andy. I haven't been in the hotel, just the clubhouse (which is very impressive in itself). Is this all a freebie or have you won the Lottery? :)

"Copy" what you've written then if Shottalk crashes you wont have to retype...just paste it. Or write it on a Word document first.

And no, doesn't happen to me!

Ah yes, that "No Irish" sign.

We stayed there - freebie - and the room was a wee bit pokey, to be honest. One of the "standard" rooms - very nice, but on the small side and a hell of a walk from reception!

Restaurant was nice, with conveniently-placed plant pots in the lounge area. Ideal for a late-night piss when you can't be bothered finding the bathrooms while you're having your port. Errr...so i'm told...wasn't me guv...honest...

Cheeky bastard!
Ever heard that expression "If the Scottish could speak and the Irish could listen, then the English would be in trouble".

Now the truth is out, finally....It explains a lot.
At least I am open about my urinary shortfallings on the course.

yeah, but I really don't intend doing that everytime I post. Well, I could, I suppose, but I use 2 or 3 other forums very reguarly, and it don't happen on there..
