A few years ago, I was playing in Ft. Myers, Fl. with 3 little old retired guys. After a couple of hours of rain, there was water everywhere on the course. On one hole I pulled my drive left over next to some water. I'm thinking "Okay, my ball is just short of that log next to the canal." I was about 10 feet away before I realized that log was a 6' alligator! (I'd never seen one on a golf course before!)
I thought the old guys were going to stroke out laughing at me. I darn near slopped my dripper getting away from that thing. Since then, I've seen a couple in Florida, and one in Myrtle Beach.
