I have a new format on the front burner. I want interested parties to have a look at it and be thinking about content......there is LOADS of interesting things we can put there as well as the ability to write stories/ articles that may be of interest to the golfing community.

The test page is here... Test page

It is PHP Nuke default right now, I am getting up the nerve to do the php edits to change the links, banner, etc.....may be the end of the weekend before I get it set up but any input would be greatly appreciated and if you want to write articles or feel that you can contribute in any way at all....please let me know.

AcK!

Forget the PHP Nuke!

I have no desire to code PHP by hand!

Check this new Mambo Test page

PHP? Ouch... I'll lend what assistance I can, gladly. Do you want to jump into FrontPage? Dreamweaver? ASP? I could throw some really cooll C# your way if you want interaction? Just don't expect it to be funy. I was told somewhere today that's not my strong point.

You know... also... In another life, before career and all took over my life, I was an actual paid and published author. Even won some awards. I'd also love to take a shot at content if need be.

Great!

You're hired! :)

I'll get this thing figured out this weekend. I would like and introduction to shot talk, doesn't have to be funny....sort of a mission statement....golf, links, forum....also, I have lot's of room for content, so if you get bored, start thinking of ways to utilize the space.

Once I get it set up I think most people who are registered will be able to submit stories/articles, whatever.

Cool. PM me the important points you want brought out.

I'm not familliar with the capabilities of the host, but some database functionality and a front-end to lay out golf course reviews with photos would be awesome. Bravo and I were tinkering with the idea a few months ago, and we kind of let it go.

Life is constantly full of surprises!
Whatchawrite? I'll bet it was crime fiction, or possibly, as a second guess, some medical journal specialising in digestive abnormalities, am I right?

Being the opinionated maggot that I am, I wouldn't mind offering content :D

Can't help you too much with the technical side of things though...

You been hangin around outside my bathroom again? or was that just pillow talk with my wife? :)

It was actually macabre, fantasy. I used to live on the stuff. Now I live on IT manuals, code snippets and databases.

Go figure.

Authors, editors, etc.

Slingblade,

Be glad to help if help needed. Unfortunately, can't do php either, but pretty experienced in html (DW, Frontpage stuff) and [if you won't hold it against me] have 3 degrees in English. Always wanted to be a sportswriter. Is this my golden opportunity? :usflag:

Thanks Gents!

The Mambo portal is not responding correctly so I will have to reinstall it.

It's going to be a little longer than I thought before I can get it going, I'll keep you posted.

The way it will work, for you frustrated sprots writers, is that you will be given access to the front pages and will be able to write and post stories at will.

I will retain the mantle of managing editor ;) so no funny business. :)
