I understand the whole 'bounce' concept with wedges but I am in the process of upgrading mine and wondered if any of you have an opinion.
My current wedges are some of the very first Vokeys and are 56.12 and 60.06. The new wedges I am looking at are the Vokey Spin Milled (love the feel) and the specs are 56.14 and 60.08 (56.12 and 60.06 not available in Spin Mill).
I play on a course with very varied conditions with firm fairways some of the year and damp/spongy at others (U.K weather) and welcome the added bounce from sand in my 56 wedge but am a little concerned with the 60.08. Has anyone played a Vokey 60 wedge with this much bounce and if so what's it like when the sand is firm and also if you open the face up for a flop shot (I should point out I would only really play a flop from a semi-fluffy lie, never from a tight lie)? The other wedge available is a 60.04 but I am concerned that this has too little bounce angle as my local pro insists that 8 degrees is not that much bounce for a wedge.
Thanks guys.
