I have a question for you all; three wedges or four??
Counting my PW as one, I have two possible wedge configurations. With my PW at 48*; one set up includes a 53 and 58. The second setup is 52, 56, 60...

I added the fourth wedge end of last year, but am contemplating going back to three.

Always been 3, although with the R11's the PW is more of a 9 iron at 45*.

All I use is 3 pitch sand and lob. Haven't really found myself in a situation where those can't get the job done

That's what I consider my 58, a lob wedge. The fourth club being the 60 in the other set up rarely sees any use!
I think my mind has been made up; two wedges plus a PW it is!

I've a 48 deg pitching wedge & then it goes 52/10, 58/10. For me the perfect set up.

I could easily get by with 47, 54, 58, but the wedges are my favorite part of the game so I carry a forth (47,52,56,60). Just depends if you need more options for longer yardage situations.

I guess I could give lofts. R11 45, 50, 58 and Wishons are 48, 53, 60.

I'm currently playing PW (46°), GW (51°) and 2 SWs (56°). See my thread on wedge dilemma.

Why not go PW, 54* and either a 58 or 60? That's what I did. I don't want more wedges, I want less. I found that 4 wedges gave me just to many options.
My specialty wedges are a C grind and they can be opened up and laid flat beautifully. If push came to shove I could probably play PW & GW but 3 wedges are the right amount for me. I agree about the 4 wedges.

This is my exact problem! Too many options with the fourth wedge, which when over thought always leads to a poor shot. ALWAYS!!
With three I pick the club, the shot and go with it. I can open the 58 for higher lobs and I can close the 53 for longer shots... It's decided, playing this weekend with 3 wedges!

I could even dump the 60 and be fine. There isn't a shot I can hit with a 60 that I can't hit with my 54.

48* pitch, 54* sand and a 58* vokey.
Had to bring in the vokey for my 60* old faithful which I only used around the greens. Figured I could drop it and bring in a slightly lower angled club that I can use from 30-40m away too.
