What lob wedges or fairly lofted wedges would you recommend because I don't have a clue.
Brands/Name etc..
Thanks

Vokey or Cleveland...the only way to go in wedges! I tried the vokeys but personally hit the Cleveland just a littel better.

Mizuno and Callaway both make great wedges as well. I personally prefer the Gunmetal Clevelands, but that's me.

From what I hear, the new CG10's are the shiznit for wedges in terms of feel...

I have a gunmetal and its my savior around the greens...I have also been told by a number of different people that CG10 is THE wedge to have right now.

I've heard really great things about Nike wedges, believe it or not. Also, the Miz are supposed to be pretty fantastic as well.

I tried a CG10 52 once and really noticed no significant difference between that my own Wilson Harmonized cheapy 52*.

Cleveland 588 series. Get the RTG if you can, it's a little softer feeling in my opinion.

Go to ebay now and get a 56 and 60 for under $100. Buy used, and save some $$

Try the CG 10. I like the 1 dot but most buy the 2 dot. THey are amazing wedges. I also like the black pearl finish.

I have this wedge in 56* 2 dot and love it. The black pearl is a nice finish.

Wedges are personal. Whatever brand or model you choose, mainly concentrate on the bounce. I find, for my game, my lob wedge is a fairway and around the greens tool, lmoreso than a sand wedge. So, a lower bounce lob wedge is what I need. You get a higher bounce lob wedge, and get used to thin, skulled shots.

i've always been dumbfounded when it comes to bounce, can anyone explain it to me? i know its like the degree of the sole or something, but what does the bounce determine in the divot or spin or trajectory, or how contact is made? thanks so much

The way I describe bounce is either how "tight" the wedge is to the ground during the shot, or how "loose" it is.

Basically, a low bounce wedge creates crisp, tigh shots, ideally from the fairway. It has a narrower sole that doesn't create alot of "thump" when you hit it.

A lob wedge, or high bounce, has a wider sole, producing more of a "slide" under the ball, which is ideal for sand or heavy rough.

Loose grass/sand, you need a loose wedge. Tight fairways need a low bounce wedge.

Both my gap and utility wedges are low to mid bounce, my 60* is a higher bounce for creating shots from around the green.

Cleveland 4 me

I would most likely go with a Cleveland CG Model or even the snake eyes gunmetal custom wedges...but i hit the rac milled face wedges the other day and those babies feel almost illegal you can get them to spin back a good 5-10 feet out of thick 2nd cut rough easily.
