Tonight is my first attempt at building an entire set of irons from scratch.

My Mp-30 heads will now be graced with new, pured Rifle Flighted shafts.

I need to add ~6grams of headweight to get to a D3 swingweight, which is what i'm shooting for. So, it's not just slapping them together.

I turned my ferrules beforehand using a cool idea i found on the Golsmith forum. Using a drill and a 3/8" bit, I mounted the ferrules and used sandpaper to turn them down to the hosels OD. Followed by some acetone, they look like million bucks. Whodathunkit?

Anyways, away I go. If I don't eff this up royal, I'll post some pics when I get grips on.

"Shafting Epoxy is known to house materials known to cause cancer in the state of California." Thank god i'm in Canada!!! :D

You'll need to check the swingweight of each club, Rock, as they can vary. I cut shafts to length, and have an old slit-open grip that I use to dry-assemble the club to check weighting before putting the whole thing together.

Just a tip... ;)

Oh, sorry.

So this probably isn't the best time to tell you that "Warming KY Jelly" doesn't work? :D

I don't know how anyone makes it past the age of 30 in California with all the things that are dangerous there.

TM,

I did a test comparison with my clubhead speed mixed with feel for the clubhead and found that my FCM match was 5.6, or by the closest, 5.5.

The 5.5 plays between the R300 and S300, which I beleive I fit into. The 6.0's were just a little heavy for me in the forged head.

The shafts look so sweet in those heads. I should have the grips installed this evening, I'll get pics up when I can.

Is the weather still decent enough you'll get to hit them? It's gonna be a long winter if not.

10cm of the white shit and still falling. I think breaking out the epoxy made old man winter say "Oh ya? F-u".

It's supposed to be +11 on Thursday, but I can't play that day.

Indoor it is.

Never fails. Same as washing your car brings rain. Actually for me it's buying a car brings rain. No joke, it's rained on the way home the last three times I bought a new car.

The last one we got in Fort Worth for my wife in August. It hadn't rained in 40 days but it started pouring down not 10 minutes from the dealer.

Ha, sweet!

I'm notorious for getting cravings for take out, finding the perfect coupon and just after ordering, finding that the coupon is expired.

I never really understood why coupons expire. I mean, 3 weeks later, they have the same bloody deal on anyways. Do they run out of lasagna or chicken or something?

Bastards.

Well, here are the ladies. Sorry about the shitty pic, I had little battery left and snapped this off.

New grips, new shafts, new desire to play. Too bad there's freaking 5" of snow on the ground outside!

Feck!!!!

Anyways, thanks to those that helped with tips, tricks and humbled me in the art of the re-shaft. I would have to say that it was more tedious than I expected, but not "difficult" at all. If you have a good work area and patience, you're gold.

Geeze, that wedge looks like it might need a Rifle Spinner Wedge shaft in 'er....:D

The shafts must have already had the bands on, those are way too straight for your first time.
I got a set of rifles in today and put them on the machine. The box said 6.0 but the frequed at 8.0!:wow:
Always check and recheck your shafts. It looks like you did a good job, now you get the experience of hitting them the first time and wonder it the heads will fly off:)
